Pre-departure for the folks in YVR... excitement is building as they prepare to depart.
And 15 hours later......
The Akimoto and Piorun families have landed in Brisbane this morning and have secured their respective cell plans and rental vehicles.
Chad is taking some of our luggage directly to Warwick as we need to return to the airport and get our rental car. This will help us out immensely!
We grabbed our "mid sized" rental car and headed off to Warwick via the M3, M7 and then HWY15. A lovely drive out and in approximately 2 hours we arrived at the hotel.
We met up with John Bentley and the Akimoto's as well as retrieved our luggage for the Northeast's. John had bought chairs, coolers and water while he awaited our arrival.
Chad had his planes assembled and headed off to Warwick Modelers aerodrome south of town with John following in his rental. With both Henry and Michi opting to just assemble air frames for now as both guys were tired from the flight and drive. Henry and I took our car and joined them at the field.
Several teams were already practicing but Chad managed to get in a couple flights before dark. Japan, France, Norway, Brazil, Germany, Finland and Canada all flew while I was there.
We gathered outside the motel rooms and had a nice social as we got caught up on everyone's activities. We then walked over to a local brewery/eatery called Psycho Suzie's and enjoy some delicious food and a beverage. We hit the rack as it will be an early start to Inglewood Aerodrome in the morning.
